We see that good, healthy food is a central part of being in community and of many important shared experiences. There are a number of dining options at the Lodge, the most frequently used of which provides a direct flow from earth to palate.

The Lodge has two kitchens. The main kitchen has a six burner professional propane range with two ovens, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. There are plenty of pots, pans, and utensils. The guest kitchen is equipped with plates, glasses, silverware, and coffee mugs. It opens onto the dining porch, which seats 30 for gatherings, and overlooks the pond and gardens. Overhead propane heaters keep the porch cozy even in cold weather, and ceiling fans and roll-up windows keep it open and comfortable the other three seasons.

Caterer and Kitchen Goddess Dava Melton imbues her creative menus with such love, it is like feasting on spirit. We can't imagine holding our retreats anywhere else.

You are more than welcome to do your own cooking, or to hire a cook. We can recommend several good caterers in the area, including ones that can handle the most complex weddings. However, most groups choose to work with our primary caterer, Dava Melton. She is intimately familiar with the Lodge, provides great meals at a reasonable price, and brings a loving presence to everything that she does. Dava has cooked here for years, and uses the best locally grown meats and organic produce. She will work with you directly to develop menus appropriate for your tastes and your group, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Last, we want to mention Rising Ground Farm, a working farm on our land. Whenever possible, our caterer will use produce from Rising Ground, which means the freshest possible vegetables for you. If you choose to use your own caterer, or do your own cooking, you are also welcome to work directly with Rising Ground Farm to prepare your meals with whatever they have in season.
