Bend of Ivy provides a unique container that supports connectedness, authenticity, and Heart for people who come here. Consistent with this, my work (Doug speaking here!) is really about the process by which we humans connect with ourselves, with each other, and with the world.

Bend of Ivy as a space tends to evoke a particular experience. While my own work focuses on Presence-Based Coaching, leadership and coach training, the “presence-based” nature of my work is rooted in the same larger perspective that Walker has so beautifully translated into physical and energetic space at the Lodge. We see our purposes as very consistent, while the expressions of those purposes are complementary.

My focus is on supporting people in being increasingly present to the needs of the world, to the possibilities that are in front of us every moment, and to more aware, effective, and life-affirming actions that can benefit us all. This focus takes form through two books on coaching, work with leaders on five continents, training at the Lodge on presence-based coaching methods, presentations at major conferences, and executive education programs in many venues.

If you’re interested in this work, by all means visit my separate website, or come to a coach training here, which provides coach certification credits with the International Coach Federation.

The progression of Doug’s coach trainings is well structured and extremely helpful, both personally and professionally. Doug is an excellent coach and teacher, and always gave me the attention, and support I needed. I have, and tools the tools and support to take my coaching work to the next level, and. I am grateful to have such a caring and committed teacher and model. - Sarah Halley; Leadership Coach.
