March 21-23, 2005 CHANGE AGENT SERIES: The Art of Mindful Coaching. This highly experiential retreat focuses on coaching as a practice for both developing others and for cultivating mindfulness on the part of the practitioner. For all professionals, regardless of coaching experience, the retreat will draw from Doug Silsbee's book: The Mindful Coach: Seven Roles for Helping People Grow. The emphasis will be on discerning the roles of the coaching process that are most helpful to the client in moving to deeper levels of understanding and commitment to action. For more information call Jane at 828-628-6715 May 13-15, 2005 ThunderHorse Dance Sticks: A Native American Gathering of Women with Wind Daughter.Thunder horse dance sticks are the representatives of the thunder beings on earth. In the workshop, each woman will paint, decorate and personalize her horse dance stick in preparation for a give-away of the medicine object to Spirit and a claiming of its power to add to her medicine tools. Horse sticks will be provided.Wind Daughter is the founder of West Winds, a spiritual and educational center for people seeking safety of religious expression and a connectedness to Mother Earth. May 20-22, 2005 Wisdomkeepers The 22nd gathering of Wisdomkeepers will be open to the public for the first time in a number of years; three previous Wisdomkeepers gatherings here have been by invitation only. We are offering a rare opportunity to gather with five beloved Native American Elders. Sit with us around the sacred fire as the Elders share their wisdom through the old tradition of oral teachings. There will be a sunrise ceremony each day, a traditional feast and celebration on Saturday night, and open conversations with Elders that continue throughout the weekend. Elders from Cherokee/Chowtaw, Mohawk, Onondaga, Tuscarora, and Ute nations will speak. Registration opens to the public on April 7. Please contact Laura Elwood at 828-665-7185. May 26-29, 2005 The Universal Door Mystery School: Observing the Sounds of the World. The Mystery School provides an opportunity to open the door of Great Action of the Bodhisattva Path. June 24-27, 2005 Somatic Experiencing Practitioner's Training: Beginning Class I (First of three workshops; sessions II and III will be held August 12-15 and November 4-7, 2005.) Dr. Peter Levine's work has been on the front line of the new body-mind therapies. It is an instinctual and biologically based modality that accesses stored energies of flight-fight-freeze without overcharging the system or re-traumatizing an individual. Anattasati Magga is presenting an intensive Dharma Study on Shantideva's classic text, The Way of the Bodhisattva. Combining video commentary by Pema Chodron, the contemporary Tibetan teacher and popular author, and live elucidation by Nancy Spence, teacher and guide of Anattasati Magga, this 4-day, 6-session study will focus on cultivating a mind that wishes to benefit all sentient beings .
