2011 Public Workshops and Retreats

Most retreats at the Lodge are private groups: weddings, church groups, and organizational retreats. We do host a number of events each year that are open to the public. We offer a list at this site; please bookmark this page and check back with us to see what is coming up. This is a partial listing; as new events are booked, and leaders send their descriptions, we'll post them here. Please contact the retreat organizer directly for cost, more information, and registration. You may also browse previous year's events for 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.

February 11-14 Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Training

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-awareness approach to trauma being taught throughout the world. It is the result of over forty years of observation, research, and hands-on development by Dr. Peter Levine. Somatic Experiencing restores self-regulation, and returns a sense of aliveness, relaxation and wholeness to traumatized individuals who have had these precious gifts taken away. Peter has applied his work to combat veterans, rape survivors, Holocaust survivors, auto accident and post surgical trauma, chronic pain sufferers, and even to infants after suffering traumatic births. For information about beginning level trainings please see www.traumahealing.com. For more information you can contact the local coordinator, Elli Schmeltekopf, at eschmelt@charter.net or 828-776-6200.

The Pathwork is a body of practical spiritual wisdom that lays out a step-by-step journey into personal transformation and wholeness, down to the very core of our being. Mary and Brian Stokes are in the fourth year of a five year journey of self-discovery, coming from places near and far to discover what is already within, often buried. To learn more about Pathwork www.pathwork.org or inquire with Mary or Brian Stokes.
