There are two primary meeting rooms available at Bend of Ivy: the Main Hall of the Lodge itself, and the Pavilion above the pond and gardens.

The Main Hall

The Main Hall is on the entrance level of the Lodge, accessed by opening French doors from the entryway. A 22-foot high arched grand window opens eastward to the full height of the cathedral ceiling, finished in lodgepole pine. Overhead is the balcony with a beautiful hand-crafted railing made from the original tobacco poles. Stairways off the Main Hall lead upstairs and down to the bedroom areas. Ceiling fans and two skylights complete the open, spacious feeling. Chairs can be easily set in a circle for groups of 15-20 people. For larger groups, theater style seating, using backjacks and chairs, can accommodate up to 40 people for workshops. For more business-like meetings, flipcharts and tables are available.

The Pavilion

The air-conditioned Pavilion has a more open floor layout, and can accommodate 30 in a circle or 45 people theater style. Three sets of French doors open onto an outdoor deck overlooking a small waterfall pool and the nearby pond. Three matching sets open into a shaded back garden area, often used for wedding receptions and other special events. More details on the Pavilion are on a separate page.

Additional Spaces

Additional meeting spaces include:

  • The common room, downstairs in the Lodge, where up to 12 people can meet comfortably.
  • The Gazebo is a unique combination of beams, rusty tin and curved eves built out over the pond and surrounded by layered decks. This area can accommodate 12-15 people for conversation or a meeting.
  • The Boathouse is a rustic, enclosed space next to the waterfall. It seats 8-12 people, but does not have air-conditioning or sufficient heat for very cold weather.

What a pleasure to facilitate a retreat at Bend of Ivy Lodge! Our programs took full advantage of the lush environment including the pond, labyrinth, gardens, and trails. The Lodge, with its huge windows in the central meeting area, was the ideal place for deep group work. Living together in one this inspiring building fostered intimacy and community, and the Lodge provided a perfect container for our purposes.
