Bend of Ivy Lodge is a place of renewal, created to support people coming together to renew the spirit and deepen their relationship to each other and community. We offer an intimate environment for weddings, perfect for outdoor ceremonies with a maximum of 125 people or indoors for up to 50. We are especially suited for couples that would like to create a ceremony in keeping with the natural beauty of the gardens and waterfall. Ceremonies can take place in the bright warm sunlight of a morning or afternoon, or bathed in the quiet light of lanterns in the evenings. We also host family reunions and other special family gatherings.

Features for Weddings

Couples often choose the small waterfall in the garden as the location for their ceremony. A number of other special places on the land have been used for commitment gatherings, for the bride's or groom's parties, for the wedding night, or for celebrating: a fire circle with a bonfire, a glade of walnut trees by the river, a labyrinth on a knoll overlooking the valley.

The Pavilion provides an enclosed area and an inspiring view over the gardens; it can be expanded with an optional rented tent to provide covered seating for up to 125 guests. A community-oriented, inspiring hall within the Lodge encourages guests to gather to enjoy each other's company, or for smaller indoor wedding ceremonies.

Accommodations on-site for up to 26 family members and friends complement nearby hotels and B&B’s for additional out-of-town guests.

Features for Reunions

The Lodge and our 63 acres offer abundant opportunities for play, exploration, and together time, as well as plenty of room to get out and take some space. The pond and river are great places for kids to explore, swim, and play. The Asheville area has lots of outdoor activities, as well as shopping, arts, world class dining, and a well-known quirky atmosphere with street performers and frequent
free public festivals.

Booking

When you visit the Lodge, we will discuss your plans and needs, and provide an estimate. If you wish to book the event here, we will write a contract, and your date will be held with a 50% deposit. The balance, plus a $100 cleaning fee for weddings, will be due at the event. We can also recommend top quality caterers and other providers. Alcoholic Beverages

Bend of Ivy Lodge, as a center for spiritual retreats, has a no alcohol policy. Recognizing that tradition often calls for a small amount of beer or wine to celebrate the making of commitments, we have modified our policy for weddings to allow for small quantities of beer, wine, or champagne to be served. Also, because of the nature of our center, we ask that loud music not be played; singing and acoustic music is welcomed.
