Dear Bend of Ivy Community + Friends,
If you are a local WNC resident, we hope this message finds you well and safe in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. For the many who are not local residents, we hope you’re well and we want to share some ways to help our struggling and amazing local WNC communities.
We are grateful to report -
that Bend of Ivy Lodge and campus is fully operational and ready to welcome you for future gatherings and retreats. The roads around Bend of Ivy are accessible and open, as is travel to major highways (I-40E, I-26S, I-244). There is a current travel advisory for parts of WNC. Some local areas (and direct routes to Tennessee) are blocked or inaccessible at the current time.
Thank you to all of those who have so thoughtfully reached out to check in and offer their support to us.
We’ve been touched by that care. During challenging times like these, having community, support and care is uplifting and healing. It’s greatly needed all around us now.
We’ve heard how Bend of Ivy has provided a place of calm and renewal to so many. We will continue to do so. For you and yours, Bend of Ivy can give rest, reflection, and healing. All are needed for healing and nurturing the body, mind, heart, and spirit.
Please know that we and our communities are moving forward from this. Our communities will need economic help. Whether you're hosting or attending a retreat, or simply looking for a peaceful space to recharge, you are helping our local WNC economy and people.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support of Bend of Ivy. Whether through renting our space or simply keeping us in your thoughts, your support means the world to us.

As many know, Bend of Ivy Lodge is located in Marshall, just 25 minutes north of downtown Asheville. Both Marshall and Asheville are well known as having been home to vibrant small businesses of creatives and healers. That’s changed for now.
Marshall, one of the hardest hit WNC communities, has been known as a thriving home to talented artists, creatives and healers. Its town sign says “Marshall - The Creative Life on the River”. Marshall’s downtown is no more as of now. These creative businesses and people are trying to survive and rebuild best they can.
If you want to help, below are a few wonderful Marshall and Asheville businesses that are struggling to survive now. Their businesses were damaged or lost. I know these small business owners, people. Helping them helps others too in our distressed local economy.
